Why doesn't Apple want to change their lighting port to USB type-C? Apple likes to control their entire product ecosystem. Part of this is financial: Apple gets about 30% of the profit on any item that goes onto an iPhone. That’s apps and media sold through the iTunes store, and its licensed hardware products.
